An Offer of Peace

With all that is happening in the world today, it is no wonder that many are gripped by fear and anxiety. A day, maybe an hour, or even a minute quickly changes our lives and uncertainty abounds.

In the midst of the ebb and flow of life, stands One who never changes and who offers peace.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. “

These words recorded in John 14:27 (NIV) were given by Jesus to His disciples when they were heading into a difficult, fearful, and uncertain time. He knew they would need this encouragement to face the days ahead.

I pray they will help us to breathe easier and calm our hearts as well.

  • DEAR SHELLEY, ANY LITTLE BIT OF ENCOURAGEMENT, DURING THESE TRYING, QUESTIONING DAYS, OUR DEAR LORD IS IN CONTROL. PRAISE THE LORD FOR STRONG ARMS TO ENFOLD US AND HOLD US TIGHT. GOD BE WITH US ALL.

  • Just reading this! Gives me hope but I’m still nervous. Stay safe💕

    • Take care of yourself. We’re all in this together.

  • Thank you Shelley! God’s Word is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is amazing how we are influenced by words from outside sources: family, friends, co-workers and bosses. The instinct is to worry and be anxious, but our Heavenly Father tells us not to be afraid; to rest in His peace. James 1:2-3 (AMP) Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].

    • You’re welcome Lynda! I appreciate your comments.
