My Review of the Best Book Ever Written

Ratings. Before heading out to a restaurant, buying a car, or working with a new business, we look at the online ratings. What was the experience of others? Good or bad? The best is 5 stars, so if a lot of people give this rating, we can be fairly certain we will have a positive experience. Much less than 4 stars and many of us are liable to move on to another option.

On my book app, I am asked to rate a book when I mark it complete. I am also asked to provide comments. Usually, I am not much for adding comments, but for the Best Book Ever, I am making an exception. This one is so great I give it 10 stars and hope you will see the excitement in my comments. You will be interested to know it is the most challenging book I have ever read, and even after reading it many times, I continue to learn more about the characters, the places of action, and most importantly, the meaning of the authors’ words. Here is my review:

Whatever your favorite genre, you’ll find it here – law, history, poetry, special insights, good news, letters, and more. It’s actually a compilation of a bunch of books into one, so all of these literary styles are included. If you have tried all of the self-help books or wish for a better world, read on! If you have questions about life, this is the one for you! It addresses every known human condition and emotion. It is at times thought-provoking, sometimes difficult, and often inspiring. More than anything, it is a book of love and hope! It is truly a must-read!

By now, you may have guessed, the best book ever written, in my opinion, is God’s Word – The Bible. As I learn about the author of each book, the cultural setting at the time of writing, the people of the day, and the language in which it was written, the content takes on even greater meaning.

Ultimately, this Book is inspired by God and tells the story of His love for humankind. Yes, there are difficult portions and some pages we may wish we could remove, but on closer examination and taken as a whole, it is the story of the God of the universe wanting a relationship with you and me. How awesome is that!

Don’t delay! Dive into it for a few minutes today and ask God to help you to understand what you are reading. For those who are already enjoying it, keep going! For those who are new to it or have let it get a bit dusty on the shelf, perhaps a place to start is in the 2nd section, the New Testament in the book called John.

I hope it too becomes your best book ever!
